Strange transmission problem

Hi All,
My wife had a strange problem with her 2000 Sentra tonight. I thought I'd ask your advice first, before I take the car to a mechanic.
She was driving from work and stopped on a red light. The car is automatic and she did not touch the shift, which was on "Drive". On green light she stepped on gas, but the car would not go, instead it rolled gently backward (downhill). The engine was working, all the internal electronics, headlights and brakes were fine. Three lights came on the dashboard: "Check engine", "Check battery" and "Check brakes". She put the car on "Park", then shifted back to "Drive", but that did not help. She turned the car off and back on and then it was fine - she got home without a problem.
Now, do you think this is a serious problem? Any ideas on what this might be? How likely is it to come back?
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Well, any info on how to delete double-posts would be appreciated as well. When I try to delete the post, it says "your message is too short".
