Anyone else have this problem? I am driving down the freeway and it shuts off, all the elctrical works but the engine just shuts off.
I pull over and have to wait about 3-5 minutes for it to start up again. The dealer cant figure it out.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.

When this happens someone has to check for spark at the plugs, fuel pressure and injector pulse, to pinpoint the area of the problem. I know you are looking for a common cause answer here, but if there was on the dealer would be the first line here.

I have been through 2 distributors. The first was replaced when my van was dying on my wife, similar to what you describe. The second was from the SES light and play seen in the distributor. It died 2 days later and now the 2001 Savana is at the dealer getting the crackshaft senor that is behind the timing cover replaced. I will hopefully pick it up tomorrow. I saw a service bulletin on water intrusion to the vehicle control module causing a bad connection.

I'm relieved to see this, not for you but for me. Twice, my 2000 Savana 2500 has simply shut down. The first time, it would not start until jumped, electrical seemed to be out also. The second time, I was coasting down hill, went to correct direction and found I had now power steering. I coasted to the side, put it in P and it started right away. Today, I was backing up my rather alpine driveway and it started to die, but recovered when I goosed it. I have 96K miles on it. I'm hoping that it is just the fuel filter or would that be too easy?
