advisors

K so i noticed some members started getting "advisor" status a few months ago. i never heard anything about them before they happened and still don't know what the hell's going on.

so what do advisors do, how do you become one (i assume it's pretty similar to mods, you just know alot about something and you post good info n stuff and you get chosen) and what perks do they have

You could have just sent a pm to a mod no? And they are exactly what it says, "advisors". It let's people know they have a broad knowledge on a certain subject/s.

good point, forgot about that, i guess it's kind of my fault seeing how little sleep i've gotten lately. i'll message one of them, no need to post here.

I'm assuming that it's kind of like a "mod in training", I've seen members that used to have the "advisor" status and now they are moderators.

Advisors are members who have a proven knowledge of certain subjects. If you mouse over the advisor title you will see their area of expertise.

And no, you can not apply for advisor status. It is a position awarded by moderator/administrator nomination.
