I have to agree a bit. It looks staged to me. Looks like the ford gives a few good tugs, then the chevy just gags it. Funny, but probably a phony, or the drivers didn't know what the heck they were doing. Still, I like it.

Were those 4x4's? I thought I heard one of the guys say that.
Maybe the FORD was afraid to ruin the plastic parts of his tranny? The ford tranny's are crap, just like the chevy's. But FORD Actually thought plastic had come a long way so it would be ok to put in a tranny. At least chevy's problems lie in their electronics!!
Nice video

It you watch carefully the ford starts to burn rubber before the Chevy even gets on the gas and then pulls away.

seems to me that it is pretty much staged. i bet that the chevy was in 4Lo and the ford in 2Hi or something.

Eh, what does that mean?
Anyway, I just watched it again. Look closely and you'll see the ford look like it rocks back and forth 2 times or so like it wants to tighten up the strap, then you hear the chevy squeal tires and is gone. Since we have such a crappy angle and can only really see one truck, there is no way to say anything else. Besides, something as simple as a locking differential could make all the difference in the world here.
On a side note, I've seen this done quite a few times about 8 years ago (holy crap, doesn't seem so long ago) in high school. The funniest was when a guy just held down the brake and waited for the other guy to give up before hitting the gas. Course, that probably only works when on sand.

It means the one that pulled harder was heavier. It's just simple physics. Either truck is capable of moving the mass of the other truck. It's mainly a traction game.
