Looking for first person shooter game for new computer!

Was wondering what you guys think are hte best frist person shooter games out there for ease and realistic. I lean more towards the war scene like COD and Metal of Honor. Halflife 2 was AMAZING (beat it six times). I just ordered off ebay COD 2 someone told me that was supposedly good for 14$ lol. I am goin to put halo 2 on it also which i have here but my laptop cant handle. I'm excited for this computer!

Yes you guy COD 2 is good game, I found my self playing counter strike source alot now ( since you already had cause it came with half life 2 ). UT 2k4 is very good game too. BTW halo 2 only work with vista. what is your pc spec ?

quake 4 as it's the only game that really has dual core support right now. :) it rocks. otherwise I'm a ut2k4 fan for the win. It owns. All games pale in comparison.

Me neither :wink: . Im off game for a while now, cause I did sold most of my pc part, to have money fix up my talon :frown: . if next time I build another pc will be Killa gaming desktop.

ah screw the damn games for now... I setup my pc with a good sound system and running my TV to play DVDs from the computer... it's bad ass (too bad my TV sucks)...

That and for some reason, most of my games have quirks with XP Pro...

I'd check out quake4 though, the quake engine are always top notch, hell Unreal Tournament engines too.

If I ever gettin a 360, GoW is the only reason I getting it. I heard it will come for pc, cause 360 use same system that use for making pc game, so if the game is very popular it eventually will made for pc version, just like halo and halo 2.

Yes ps3 price gonna to drop, I was watching a new the other day, and they was saying ps3 is over pride $599 for a system, the reason it so high is because ps3 had blue razer disc ( something like that ) it help you watch HD dvd, but they say gaming people dont need a HD dvd on their gaming console, so yes I think ps3 price should drop properly $299, but my brother already order one, and he should pick up the first day it came out. BTW they say nintendo wii will be a good console cause alot of game is made for only for nitendo wii and it cant be found on other console.

Guys believe it or not, the Wii will be successful. It has the appeal of little kids, and they get stuff too. It's cheap, has innovative and new controlers, and it will have the ability to download old Nintento, Super Nintendo, etc. games and be played. It will have a market, just not as big as the PS3 or 360 markets. It's not junk, just not as good.

I dont like Playstation stuff, where I bet the PS3 is going to be pretty dope, its never going to over take xbox I dont think. I think as soon as Halo 3 comes out, PS3 might just as well dig itself a hole and jump in. I know the Wii appeals to little kids, but if its performance compared to the 360 and PS3 is like the gamecube compared to the xbox and PS2, they wont last long. I personally will be buying a wii over all the other mostly cause its cheaper but i'm also a huge fan of all the above Wii games....but eventually i'll buckle down and throw down the cash for one of the other systems!

I must say I'm caught between the 360 and the PS3... I am leaning more towards the PS3 though. I've long been a Playstation fan, and have had the last two systems and have been overall pleased. I will probably still hang onto the PS2, as the PS3 has some glitches playing the PS2 games...

I'm a bit pissed at how PS3 is $600. What I really like about the XBox 360, is that you can separately purchase all this other fancy junk as accesories (wireless networking adapter, HD-DVD player, etc.) on your own time later on, without making you pay for something you don't want. This keeps the core system cost down, and relatively affordable, and at the same time in no way diminishes the performance of the console for the purpose it was meant for in the first damn place: playin' video games. Some people just don't care for on-line gaming enough to want to buy a wireless adapter, or don't want a HD-DVD player in-built.


As for Halo, it has been called, argueably, not only the best shooter ever made, but also the best game ever made. Period. I'm not even a hard-core gamer, and I'm very average at playing that game. But I loved it so damn much, I based my deicision to buy an entire console just for that game. Everything else was bonus, and secondary. Usually, it's the other way around, right?

I have friends who do not even play any video games at all. I got these guys hooked on Halo so bad, they're on the net now trying to find out the story behind the game, and buying 360's just for Halo 3. I'm talking about grunts who've never placed a finger on a console controller, dinosaurs of technology who called video games "gay". lol. Shit, I have a 15"x15" legendary Elite skull on my rear hatch glass on my 3000GT, and I'm not even that nerdy about it!:-

The fanbase for the Halo series has been absolutely unprecedented, and I personally think that no game comes close. I have played over 20 different kinds of RTSs (C&C: complete series, Warhammer 40K: all series, etc) and several shooters, sports games and car racing games. But nothing prepared me for the rush of Halo multiplayer, it's story, etc. I love this crap so much, I'll buy every single Halo they decide to come out with and keep coming back for more. Can't wait for Halo Wars either. Don't care if it's crap, I'm still gonna getttit!!!
