Your engine has B16A1 stamped on it?

Weird mine simply has B16A501xxxx on it.
Any idea why they are different, both should have been produced at roughly the same time?
Cheers

All the Euro Civic/CRX VT's have B16A1 stamped on it with a 1-series engine number below it.
Aren't the JDM 1-series from the Integra XSI/RSI and the 5-series from the Civic/CRX?
I guess because our B16's were produced for different markets they have different types of serial numbers.
Here's the complete pic:

btw, they can't track anything down with a engine number, right? (yes I'm paranoid..;) )

LOL - I'd forgotten the XSi/SiR designations for the engines. Cheers.
It's unlikely people can track that engine number... BUT... there's nothing to say someone from another country couldn't use it on a hot B16A ;) Maybe delete the pic just in case? It's why I don't put mine up.
