Most of you know that the V6 Avenger only came in the auto:disappoin .
Well I wanna know what's the name of the transmission (i.e. numbers letters and name as in torqueflite etc.). I've looked every where for that info and I thought maybe someone here might have the answer to this question.
Anyway, hit me back with the answer if you have it.:iceslolan

41TE I think, bought one long time ago but never had it installed.
The kit is $32 and the Trans shop wants $250 to install it. There is a lot of drilling and modding involved in this particular kit.
Look at www.txchange.com/sk.htm
The kit is the SK 604 / 606JR.

cool thanx straight to the point! Now did you only list this one because this is the only shift kit out there or is this just the best.

It is the only one that I know of. The trans is a fully electronic control trans. This trans kit will improve some aspects of the operation but not as much as shift kits for hydraulic controlled tranmissions. That is probably why the designation "JR" is put on the part number. Some people have said that they cut or put a switch on the "Request for Torque Management" wire that goes from the Trans Computer to the Engine Computer. That made the shifts much sharper and made it possible to "chirp" the tires when the trans shifted. I have never heard any follow up regarding this mod. I don't know if it "nuked" the transmission or the combination of wire clip and shift kit is a good long term mod. Shift kit this thing and swap the 2.5l for the Mitsu 3.0l and you will have a good start on a "sleeper" car, since everyone knows Avengers are all show, no go cars.
