MAP sensor 95 lumina

95 lumina, 3100v6 is showing 2 codes for the MAP sensor...33 & 34 I believe they were. Anyway, it was a high and low circuit reading causing them. The car runs fine (I assume that is because the computer is using default settings?) The service engine soon light comes on intermittently usually as you let off the throttle after travelling a few miles. It is also usually off when it is first cranked up whether it has sat all night or if its been driven all day until you let off the throttle. That being said, I have already replaced the MAP sensor and it is still tripping the light. My questions are,

A - Will the ses light go away after so many cranks of the engine after replacing the sensor?

B - Could it be a vacuum leak causing the trouble?

C - Do I need to take it back to the shop and have the code cleared since Ive replaced the sensor?

D - Is there any other things I need to look that at Im not thinking of?

Do you have vacuum to it? Scan it and look at the input data for a proper diagnosis. No cuts, breaks, or harness pinched some where?

I finally got the time to look over this thing again and it does have vacuum, I cant find any bad connections or hoses. Only thing I came across I thought might be odd is when I removed the hose on top of the fuel regulator, it was wet with gas....not soaked, but damp. Is this normal? Here is a link to a picture of it. If thats normal, I will go back out and do some more searching later.

no thats not normal. it may not fix your MAP sensor problems, but that is defenatly a problem. The diaphram inside the fpr has cracked.

Well, its been a while but I finally replaced the fuel pressure regulator. That didnt fix the intermittent ses light though but.........I may have found the culprit but Im not sure what the part does or what it is called so here goes my best description of it. Start at the PCV valve and follow the hose attatched to it about 8 inches or so, below a black bracket in the area of the where the throttle cables are attached. Right in the top of the intake manifold there is a "T" off from that pcv vacuum line that attatches to a part that goes down into the intake there. The reason I suspect this part is because it is VERY loose if you touch it. I checked a friend of mines car with the same motor and his is very tight. What Im suspecting is happening here is that as long as the car is running smooth at idle or under steady throttle it doesnt show a vacuum leak which is why the light doesnt come on until AFTER I let off the throttle to slow down and it looses its attatchment to the intake........That make any sense? I have tried to figure out what this part is called but I cant find it anywhere. Anyone know? I would sure appreciate it. Ohh and please dont tell me its a dealer only part....:rofl:

Sounds like the vacuum dist block that bolts the throttle body/intake?
