Sunroof will not open

I just got a 97 cav and the sunroof will not open. when I press the button I can hear the motor turning but nothing happens? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I hope this is not too big of a problem. Car has been sitting for like 1 yr in a field.

If you can hear the moter turning, this could mean your sunroof has come off track, or could be broken. I would try to help the sunroof open while someone pressed the button, if you get it open, look at the tracks while your helper presses the button, ""Carefull, dont get your head traped in the sunroof".

If it is a bad track that needs worked on, this could mean taking your uphostery down, i wouldnt attempt it unless your kinda sure you know what your getting into.

My 97 cav dose the same thing u hear the motor push it but it just wont move if i push up on mine when i hit the button it will open tho I just prefer not to open it anymore i don't want to have to worry about any leaks
