I just picked up a 04 flame red srt this afternoon. It has 9670 miles and is loaded, sunroof, viper seats, livin loud. It also has eyelids(s-style) What I believe to be the mopar exhaust but it doesnt say borla on the tips that I can see but looks exactly like it. It has a rice plate. It also has a stage 1 badge but has turbo toys and I found a stage 2 badge in the glove box and its boosting around 16 psi. How do I tell what stage it is? The dealer thought the car was stock so I couldnt get any info from them. Oh and the best part is that I paid $16500 for it from the dealer. Oh and I also get a 84000 mile extended bumper to bumper warenty. here is the ad for the car http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?car_id=211903631&dealer_id=21491383&car_year=2004&model=SRT4&num_records=25&make2=&start_year=1981&keywordsrep=&keywordsfyc=&engine=&certified=&body_code=0&fuel=&search_type=both&distance=25&make=DODGE&color=&min_price=&drive=&default_sort=priceDESC&max_mileage=&style_flag=1&sort_type=priceDESC&address=60018&advanced=&end_year=2004&doors=&transmission=&max_price=&cardist=25

check the part number on teh computer, its located directly undernieth the factory airbox, bolted to the radiator support. that will tell you if its s1 or s2.

part number, and it should say stage2...but some of the s2 comps say s1 on them. another thing you can do is to play with the toys. if the dab or hom works, then its s2

blk_srt
11-11-2006, 10:33 PM
will the hom button light up or how do I know its working?
also arent the injectors different?

TEXSRT4
11-12-2006, 12:13 AM
the light should go on...but only with race gas, other wise it will flash and shut off. injectors are different, but i dont remember what the s2 injecotrs are like, as i have a custom injectors on the ride

Its definatly stage 2. Dial a boost works and the light come on with hom. Its faster than my talon and it pulls pretty good but every time I shift fast into 2nd I pull the shift knob off. Any suggestions on what the first few mods I should get are as to maxamize the potential of stage 2?

Replace the s2 wga with an Agp unit, and turn up the boost. Get some motor mounts too.

if you do go knfilter's intake, be sure to superglue in the rubber grommets. they are known to get sucked up through the turbo. a couple drops of glue fixes it totally

I heard about that. A guy I know had that happen to him but he got a new turbo out of the deal for free.

I have the same intake, I got mine off ebay used for $90, I never glued mine down, just be sure you install it right and you shouldn't any problem.

Ok, I just ordered solid mounts (energy suspension) chrome injector cover and a "SRT-4" third brake light cover(the rice in me) and a 13 antenna because the huge stocker pisses me off. I already have an aem uego wideband and t bolt clamps so I think next I'm going to get plug wires and plugs and then throw some royal purple in and then get an intake and then I'll start saving for the bigger bolt ons like bigger IC and wategate and such. Sound like a good plan?

Sounds good, get some ngk iridiums and gap them low, 32-36 if you are planning on making any good numbers. Also, I'm selling my cca intercooler if you are interested.

I've just decided to go with a different unit, I was looking to get $150 plus shipping. It's 24x10x3.5.

direct bolt on?

Turbodog97
11-13-2006, 09:41 PM
Yes. I aslo forgot to mention. Using upgraded sway bars, makes a night-and-day difference on the skittle. The handling goes from say 25% good to somewhere in the neighborhood of 75%(if I was to make up my own numbers).

Does that intercooler require the removal of the bumper core support? Also Is it a bitch to get warenty work done on a moded car even if more if not all mods are mopar?

Yes it requires the removal of the bumper support. 90% of fmic's require it to be removed except for the small percentage of direct fit fmic's. Warrenty work just depends on where you go. Mopar doesn't mean anything to them. Usually, if it's something minor like tps, you can hadle it yourself but when it comes to something major, you would want to put your car back to stock(or stock looking:icon16: ).

I was looking at my ecu today and noticed that there were 4 places for connectors to be plugged in but only 3 connectors. is that just the way the come? Aslo I found the harness for the turbo toys wires and all the wires and spliced into the ecu harnesses except one 2 wire harness that has a red and black wire going to it, that is just hanging out. Anyone know what that is for? I can take a picture if needed

Yeah, that's normal. There are only three plug-in's for the ecu. I'm not too sure about the splicing for s2. Hmmmm.....Theoretically, there shouldn't be any extra wires, especially with a mopar kit. I'll start researching it and see what I can find.

I stay away from platinum plugs for the most part. Also do us all a favor and try and refrain from using "N" instead of and, and "r" instead of are, and ect. I'm going with Iridiums myself

Get the iridiums.

TEXSRT4

i perfer the basic vpower's myself. they are cheap, gap easy, and you dont feel bad tossing them in 10,000 miles...none can be said of the iridiums. plus, there is no power difference here, realistically.
