I have a 89 Grand Prix that the headlights and tail lights are not working. The turn signals and brake lights still work. I have checked the fuses and all of them are still good. Any ideas where to look for this problem?

do any other runnung lights come on like the front running lights or corner lights? If not, then the headlight switch is probably bad.

Do you know if the circuit runs off of one ground?

None of the running lights come on. The turn signals work but the flashers do not.
If it is the headlight switch which switch is it and is it had to replace?

Thank you

On an 89 Grand Prix, its on the dash to the left of the instrument cluster.

I started looking at the problem again, the car has been stored, and i have found out it is not getting power at the fuse panel. that is as far as i've been able to track it. any ideas what the next step should be to try and locate the problem?

Wow, it's been a while and you still haven't figured it out huh? Normally we'd close a thread this old, but since you're the OP, we'll let it go.

I'd start by loosening the underhood fuse/relay center on the passenger side and see if the underside is all green and corroded. It's a fairly common issue on these cars, especially if you live where they use salt on the roads in winter.

Are there any other dead circuits (dash lights, door chime, radio, etc...) ?
