Hi everyone,

I'm looking at getting this cheaper CAI on ebay. It replaces everything before the mass air flow sensor. If I get this and put it on, will it affect my vehicle in any negative way and if so, how?
Just not sure if I really want it or not. I really dont want to spend the money for a doctor speed version just because I dont have that kind of money for just a CAI.
Here's a link if you wanna see the actual product...

Another quick one, I just ordered the front and rear strut bars. I know I can just undo the bolts on the top of the strut, slide the bars on and then tighten the bolts back down right? And if so, whats the torque specs on those bolts for both front and rear please.

My car is a 2001 GASE with the 3.4L if that helps.

Thanks a lot you guys,
Jon

Hey Jon!
If you are just wanting a short ram (which is a Warm air intakeWAI) I wouldnt waste my time aand money on that pos in the ebay ad.

Just go buy a K&N or other dry cone filter for $20-25 and stuff it on the MAF, it has to be 3" inside to fit the MAF.
The extreme K&Ns are more expensive but suck air in from all sides.
The RX4990 is what I hav on my CAI heres a pic

A true CAI will have 2-3 pieces and goes inside the fender to get cooler air away from the HOT engine.

The cheapest I've seen on ebay was chromeintakes for $50ish + $25 shipping. My GT has one and its as good as the $300 one I bought for the SE.

On your front strut the top nuts are 18 ft lbs.
The strut-to-body bolt is also 18 ft lbs.
The damper shaft nut is 52 ft lbs.
(with doesnt pertain to you Jon for the strut bars)
Strut-to-knuckle 133 ft lbs.

Just being thorough.

I got my CAI from ChromeIntakes for like 80ish dollars. It goes down into your drivers-side front wheel well. The plastic bumper parts and everything protect it from getting wet most, if not all, of the time (I drove through some major puddles on my way to and from Indianapolis last night and didn't notice anything). It's pretty easy to install, sounds AWESOME when you rev, and noticeably gives you better horsepower. And gas mileage. And def. make sure you get the K&N :)

Thanks for clearing everything up for me Xero. Defiantly thinking about getting the cheaper CAI from Chromeintakes.

Thanks also for replying Vipey!!

I'll let you guys know if I end up getting one for the SE.
