Hi, Just got the truck. Only 350 miles on it. Was testing the functions and it goes into 4*4 just fine. The low range lite blinks and the buzzer sounds when going to low range. Tried to engage by trying going forward slightly, backward slightly, clutch in, in neutral, engine running or not. Finally pull it into the garage with a slight backward slope and pop - in it went. Only 20 minutes wasted. Then for another 30 minutes trying to get it out. In disgust, I turned the engine off and went into the house for a coffee and cool down. Got back and it had jumped out. Flipped the switch and every time it engaged. Moved the truck about a foot and now it won't engage. Now I've driven 4*4's for about 40 years and this is the first one with the idiot switch on the dash. Is this typical stuff for idiot switches? regards, Don

No, it's not. Take it back to the dealer.

Guys,
The problem resolved itself. I suspect that the small "fuzzies" on the clutch caused the transmission is slowly revolve and the straight cut gears wouldn't dis-engage. The situation got better and better as the truck was driven with the clutch "fuzzies" getting worn off. It clicks in every time now. Still, I missed a real live gear shift.
What I'd do to turf the CD player, tire pressure alarm and or that matter, most of the cheezy stuff installed on this truck for rubber floor mats and a gear shift.
regards,
Don
