Ok, I have read all the posts on the problems with the Intermediate Steering Shaft and the way to correct that problem. My 04 Yukon is making that "clunking" noise but it does it also when I am driving down the street and hit a small bump or if the road is just a little rough it makes that noise. Do you all still think it could be the Intermediate Steering Shaft that is causing the problem? We have checked the shocks and the suspension and it all looks good. I have been trying to play process of elemination.

Yes, I think it could be the ISS. I first noticed mine turning left into a drive way but I also felt it going over speed bumps.

You are exactly right!! I took my Yukon into the GMC Dealership after work yesterday evening and they had it ready today. Sure enough, it was the ISS. MY NOISE IS GONE!!!
