Hello all, if you have a suggestion on any aspect of how AF DSM is run here, please post up! We would like your suggestions!

Yeah I have a suggestion, bold all of the IMPORTANT (stickies) so that they stand out more so people read them instead of scroll right past them. :2cents:

^I agree... I, myself, have been guilty of going right by them. I think they should stick out, but not be overly ugly/annoying...

Is that even possible? I just experimented by editing one of my threads and trying to make the title bold, and it didn't work. It only goes bold if there are new posts in it. Plus, even if it was possible to make them bold, how would you know if they have new posts in the threads like this one that are stickied but you can post in?

I'm just talking about the stickies. Or make the font bigger or something, I don't know. Not too often to people post in them that it would matter if a new post was bolded or not. We never used to have the new posts bolded, that just happened like what, a year ago? I'm sure the mods are the only ones able to do something like that.

From my experimenting I do not think we can make the titles bold... Unless there is a way unknown to me so far.

Sure there is, TS can do anything.

What I would really like is a file attachment option so I can post up files (such as LOGS) from my computer without having to upload them to a third party site (and logs aren't pictures and can't be done at all anyways)

I agree with the prior suggestions, and i was just curious how did you guys make it so when you post it always says your mods and/or pics? I just thought it would be fun to keep a little log of what i had done like i have seen others do.....

Just FYI the Announcement part where Thor posted the READ thread is a little hard to see. Maybe you could find way to distinguish it with a different color? just an observation.

Well, the eclipse is good..I think, Its being stored in the garage for the winter and I see a puddle of something under it. I don't have time to inverstigate now but I have a feeling it has something to do with the modified front plate when I did the 6bolt swap.

I finally graduated school and interning at the local news station and ready to make some damn money. I started a business and purchased a blazer so I spend some time sucking information from the chevy board....GM is such a piece of shit!

Blackcrow I am going to have to search your threads when I have more time to see all the stuff you have done.

Glad to hear most of you are doing good...I figured thor would be a punk and not respond to me :grinyes:

So...how bout that party? :runaround:

Sweet dude! What do you do at the news station? That is the kind of place I should have a job in too. :(

I have a link in my sig to my build thread. It pretty much covers everything I've done for the last... year and a half... :uhoh:

Ok, so it took me a little longer to finish it than I expected. lol

Oh yeah, what front plate are you talking about that you modified? You have me worrying that I may have forgotten about something in my swap now. :uhoh:

yeah I forget where you live but it is WCCO ch 4 (CBS), I was editng dr. phil, oprah and ellen promos, ran camera for power of ten auditions, and cut a few comercial spots as well as went along for a few live shots....its cool stuff and great experience. Is video productiont he field you are in?

As for the car, the mod is only needed when you are not running DSM Link which I am sure you are. The front plate is off a 7 bolt and modded to fit a 6 bolt. I am spacing out on the correct term, but if you check out Road Race they used to have a "how to" for the front plate mod. I am sure you didn't forget, it is definetly something that wouldn't be overlooked...it just consists of plugging a few bolt holes, drilling new ones and making the "galleys" a bit longer and such for oil to flow properly to the 6 bolt. I hope that made sense haha

If you don't have Link I reccomend getting it so u don't need to do the mod cause its kinda ghetto wish I would have...maybe I will convert to a 6 bolt plate and Link if I get a killer job :-)

Video production is one of the fields I can go into. My actual degree title is for Multimedia, so that keeps me open to go many directions as I had a little bit of everything in college. Too bad no experience to accompany it. :(

Actually, I am NOT running link on my setup... I know, I know... I probably should, but I just went with the MAF translator and AFC combo setup... Maybe I'll convert to Link someday, but for now this is good enough.

I still don't know what "front plate" you are talking about... Then again I am on my 4th day of running on 2 hours of sleep, so I feel like shit and can't think straight... Are you talking about when ya use a 2g head on a 6 bolt block? If that is the case I am running a 1g head if that makes the difference. lol

JoeShmoe

Holy Shit, CLIPS! That is the sexiest 2G I have seen. From the sig. on the right it looks like (excuse my language) its a fucking gem!

haha thanks joe

well i spent about 10 min searching for the how to I used for the "front plate" and I can't find it, must be too old school lol...but I can't for the life of me come up with the "technical" term.

Crow
My swap (the untold secret, post will self distruct to preserve secret in 24 hours lol) was a 1990 (1g) block bored .020 over, head is a 1993 (1g) ported with 1g ported mani. 97' (2g) oil pump assy (front plate) modded to fit the 1g block. new 2g pistons on '90 rods w/arp rod bolts. Its very strong except for that flippin oil leak from the plate mod. and i am running 660cc with a 190 pump and an afc2.

as for the multimedia degree, why no experience? if you lived around here I could hook u up. I just got some freelance work and a new job as an AV tech today so Link might be commin...:-)

Nice dude... Now I know what your talkin about with the front plate. Of course it wasn't an issue for me since I am running a new 1g oil pump assembly.

As for the no experience, I am in the dead zone of Ohio. Nobody wants a guy with only an associates degree and no experience. I set myself up for major rapage... My one friend and I am working on a huge animation project now that will blow away most animation films you see in theaters. We are hoping with something like this in our portfolios we will be able to get some great freelance jobs and eventually move into better jobs because of it or continue on with the freelancing. Sometimes freelancing can be the better place for the money. :)
