strange problem. All of the interior lights stay on when the door is closed. Notihing is interfering with the door close swith..at least I don't think so. So I had to disconnect the rear view mirror harness and the back seat lights so the batter does not go dead.

other than a major wiring problem..any ideas??

Did we find out why the interior lights would not turn off? I have the same problem.

It sounds to me like a short to ground in your main interior light wiring. But without seeing and testing it, thats the best I can do.

I had the same problem with my 99 Sebring convertible. In my case, it turned out that the drivers door was slightly sprung and the door wasn't pressing the light switch far enough in to shut off the interior lights. I attached a small piece of 1/8 steel to the door where it meets the switch and haven't had a problem since. I hope this helps you.
