I have had a great afternoon reading through a bunch of caravan threads. Have not seen the answer to my problem yet. Hope some one can help.
My gas tank is vibrating continously with a humming noise in the vehicle also continously. Tried the "3 second turn the ignition switch to on but not start" when i did it hummed for the second that the fuel pump ran until the fuel pump turned off again. I am hoping for some advice before I try replacing the fuel pump. If I have to replace the fuel pump could you suggest the basic steps. I am some what mechanicaly inclined and I do have a floor jack and tool box:) . Van is running great at all speeds.
sort of hoping it might be some magic, easy fix.
Thanks for reading and hope to hear from some of you.

Welcome to AF!!
Check and change the fuel pump relay before changing the fuel pump. The relay controls the time that the pump stays on and when it turns off. It should be located in the power control center under the hood. If that fails then the pump will need to be replaced. To change it you will need simple hand tools and a jack to lower the tank. Once the tank is lowered you will need to have a tool to disconnect the fuel lines. You can purchase one at most autoparts stores for a few dollars. Disconnect the lines and power. Oh yea, don't forget to disconnect the battery before starting the job. After the tank is lowered and the lines disconnected, use a brass drift (punch) to loose the locking ring and you should be able to remove the fuel pump assembly. Reinstall in reverse order. Just remember to lubricate the o-ring with vasoline so that it goes on easily and stays soft. Reconnect fuel lines and power to the pump and jack the tank back into place. Reconnect the battery and the car should start. Good Luck!

You don't need the special tool for a 1990 model. They use rubber hoses and regular crimp clamps that can be changed to the regular screw type clamps.
The metal tank is held up with 2 straps.
The hardest part is getting the screws out where the tube goes up to the gas cap area, it is from underneath.
Make sure gas rank is fairly empty. It is easier to change pump if tank is removed, but it is not impossible to change pump just by lowering tank.
I wouldn't change pump until it quits, some times they will run for 4 years while making a humming noise.
