I've seen them on a Z28, they fit but just barely. Talk about some rubber bands for tires. I thought it looked pretty horrible on the Z28, IMHO. It'll require more rotational inertia to get the larger rims going, thus making it slower. It has to do with the weight of both the tire and the larger rim, as well as the tire has to travel farther for a single rotation.

Go to stangnet.com and do a search.. Somebody on there posted a pic of some 20's. BTW if your going to put some 20's, don't forget to upgrade your brakes!!! :frog:

I have 18"s and there is minimal clearance when you turn the wheels lock to lock, dont think 20s would fit.

I am rebuilding '66 Stang. I bought a 5.0 High Performance engine from a friend of mine from a '94 GT Mustang, and I bought some stock rims from a 2002 Mustang. I tried to put the rims on my '66 and they seem to wide. Is there any way to get the tires to fit without totally cutting up my '66?

Thanks!

I think they make wheel spacers to set the wheels out a bit. I have seen classic mustangs with the newer bullet rims, so there has to be some way to make it work.

Thanks 94svt,

If anyone knows of any websites or magazines out there that have this demonstrated I would be appreciative.

Thanks,

Steve.

i've seen 20's on a 99 an up GT. they fit fine but you have to role the fenders.

20's on a Stang.....That's almost ghetto. I wouldn't go any bigger than 18's.

94SVT - That's a great looking ride, but she's screamin' for some Eibachs.:)

I always go to the games hoping for the best, but end up getting dissappointed alot. Oh well, it gives me an excuse to go to Lexington, drink beer, and look at the hot chicks on UK's campus.:)

So, did you wreck your cobra or sell it?

I sold it to a guy in Maryland. It only had 10,600 miles on it. I bought it new in '98. It was a hell of a car.

Nice m3, quite a switch from the cobra. Moving up in the world eh?

It is quite a switch from the cobra. I miss the raw power of the cobra, but the M3 can hold it's own. Surprisingly quick for an inline 6, and handles unreal.
