Hi I have a 93 F250 with a fresh 5.8 Windsor. New every thing and the water temp is 195 at idle and varies between 210 to 230 when under a load. Once I stop at a light or when ever i stop it goes back to 195 I have changed the thermostat and it has a new water pump. The heater core lines aren't getting very hot or is throwing much heat in the cab. I was wondering if anybody has ever gotten a bad pump out of the box or if the after market gauge is junk. Any ideas would be great its driving me nuts it makes no sense it runs even cooler when the plow is on Thanks:banghead:

I would check if your fan clutch is working properly. Does your bottom radiator hose have an internal spring. They will collapse if they don't have a spring. Feel the top and bottom radiator hoses are they both hot. A thermostat turned backwards or a serpentine belt installed so the pump runs backwards will cause a problem.
Run the heater full blast does it heat both hoses. Some of the older vehicles had a vacuum operated valve in the heater line.

I changed the clutch fan but it is loud it sounds like a school bus and and the belt is on according to the diagram there is no spring on the bottom hose I will change the bottom hose. And I will check at the heater core for a vacuum valve the lines don't get hot equally thanks for your help

I have tried silicon clutchs in the past and always had to buy a centrifugal clutch.

I changed the hoses to motersport ford hoses and cleared the heater core and it now runs at a steady 195 mint thanks for the help
