--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi guys!

I want to make the General Lee version but I don't know what is the best detail kit for it... I have 3 choices:

AMT General Lee original kit (can find one on eBay)
AMT General Lee movie kit (is there is a big difference between both?)
Revell Dodge Charger...

I know the 2 first come with all the decals but I also want to make my own Charger (a black one... wonder why!)

So, is anyone can help me choose between theses?

Thanks!!

The Revell Charger is hands-down a far better kit. The AMT kit has problems, but if you want a General Lee you're going to either live w/the AMT kit or get it for the detail bits and use the Revell kit as the basis. The Revell Charger is one of their all-time best engineered/detailed muscle cars. AMT's is typical late 60's AMT engineering/detail.

The 2 AMT's are the same, so choose one for the decals, then get the revell for the body, as the AMT is a Charger 500 body.

This link may interest you if you go with the Revell kit.

The best deal is to buy the Revell kit, and buy the AMT kit for the wheels, decals and pushbar, because you'll have a tough time scratchbuilding those.
