AMT F+F Mitsubishi Eclipse

This is my third model. It's the first one that I sanded, polished, and waxed. It lost a lot of shine through the process but is definitely a lot smoother. Hopefully I'll get better on my next model!

Gauges on airbag (Autometer Ultra Lite Series, boost, pyrometer (egt), and nitrous pressure)
Seats from AMT / ERTL Fast and Furious 1995 Toyota Supra
Drilled out exhaust tip with inside painted flat black
Custom NOS setup - 2 chrome NOS bottles from AMT / ERTL Fast and Furious 1995 Toyota Supra + 1 from this kit

Nice build. I am currently on my fourth model. Looks really nice for a third. As far as suggestions, I say work on the polishing some more, I am too, it takes alot of time to get it down and alot of product experiments. The paint looks really nice on the interior, but a few spots on the dash look sort of blotchy. Use less paint on the brush and go over the area a few times. You get a very thin level of paint, but enough to cover the area to make it look good. Everything else looks awsome.

Remember you can always add extra detailing too... wiring the engine, painting the seatbelts a different color, certian little things will make you model that much better.

It looks good bro! :thumbsup: I think it looks really nice, engine came out pretty sweet. You're doing very well, you're well on your way to churning out some real nice builds!

Now, I'm hardly an expert, but you're asking for suggestions and advice, so here's my 2 cents:

You did a pretty good job on the paint, getiing it smooth and all, but next time shoot a couple coats of clear. Your paint will be deeper and shinier and you can polish it out to an amzaing finish. I'm still trying to get the hang of it, but I know there are many people who can whip out amazing finishes rather easily. It just takes practice.

Detail painting brings your model to a whole new level. Even if it is box stock, a model that has been well detail painted well can easily be a show winner. Get some more paints and a few very fine brushes, and practice on a few things. Then you can paint molded seat belts, dash board details, engine components, window rubbers, misc nuts and rivets and whatnot. Adding washes is also a great thing, it gives things like engine blocks and heads andpanel lines more realsim and depth.

Spend a few minutes (or hours :uhoh: ) going through AF's modeling tutorial bank, as well as places like briansmodelcars.com and scalewiki (both have large tutorial banks) and you'll learn tons. You'll probably hate me when you end up never being able to build a kit with out modifying it someway (I never finish builds :disappoin).
