I just took mine out recently to paint the rear panels, if 03's are the same as 98's, which they probly are. Okay if you're looking out your rear window, on the left/passenger side where the back of the seat rotates? to go up and down, look on the axle it's on and there should be a black plastic spacer, you have to pry that off, and then you have to push the back of the seat to the right/driver's side while moving it up and down to try and find the correct position to take it out. I can't really explain it, if you don't have a Haynes manual, just go to your local parts store and open it to Chapter 11 I think it is, it tells you in there.

ok i have a 98 cavy but i think they have the same basic layout so here goes

1. fold the seat down
2. pop the black circular disk thing out of the black beams that are behind the seat
3. remove the black beams
4. pop out the grey circular disks also located behind the seat from the rear shelf
5. remove the seat belt from the rear shelf by sliding it through the slits on the bottom of the shelf.
6. bend the rear shelf up slightly and pull up and out
7. the speakers will be in brackets that snap in to holes , i dont remember exactly how they are snaped in there but it is very easy to figure out.
8. unscrew the old cardborad POS speakers and replace it new ones.
9. there will be a connector on the old speakers that is not used on the new ones so before you unconnect the old speakers follow the red and black wires through the connector to the colored wires and label them red/black so you can connect the the new speakers
10. cut off the connector as it is not needed then splice the new wires onto the wires that were recently named red/black
11. reverse steps 1-7 to put the shelf back on

i think that is detailed enough with stuff that you did not even ask for just incase you need to know and i think i got it all but i was pulling that off the top of my head so i might have missed something

if you have questions let me know

Haha yeahhh, I know yall be givin out info bout how to mess round with the speakers (Which I dont know bout), but to take out the backseat, its really simple (Cuz I do know bout it cuz I done it, in an 03). Anyways, pop the lil styrafoam bottem part of the seat up, its held by two little plastic clips. A slightly hard tug should do the trick. Now throw that outta the car. Second, you will see the seatbelts bolted to the car, and then a long hinge connecting the car to the back seat (looks like a long black bar kinda). There should be a couple of nuts holdin that down, just take em off and slide the back of the seat right out. Btw, this really is a pita in a coupe, =D.

For instance doing it in a trunk with the back seat folded down. Thats running around in a thread somewhere. Your car and you thread, I think.
