lights flickering

96 jetta 5 sp. When I turn on the lights they flicker including the dash lights. I had the alternator checked out and its ok. My alternator repair shop told me to look for a loose corroded ground wire on the firewall or inner fender. I can’t find them. Any suggestions?

I'd follow the mechanics advise. In case he didn't check, go through each of your fuses and make sure they don't have oxidation on them. Many a tow truck has been called for VW fuses. Brush the fuse contacts with fine sand paper and reinstall.

HAd a similar issue with my 1996 Jetta GLS. IT turns out it was the rear wiring harness on the drivers side. Look in the trunk and have alook at the driverside wiring harness and see if any burnt wires. THe parts are approx
$ 125.00 and about hour labour
