Nice detailing on the lights and great body perspective/shape.
I did notice that the bottom line of the windshield seems to be a bit
out of alignment with the vanishing points of the roof top and
the lines of the front facia/grill.
The windsheild bottom seems to be at a steeper angle than the top of the glass.

Started shading... but realized I suck at it, so i stopped. :)
My only pencil here at work is a mechancil pencil .. I need some darker pencils!

You sure it's an impreza you're working on, cause that's a mitsubishi emblem I see on the grille. Nice work anyways.

Yeah, it looks more like a lancer Evolution than an Impreza, even the headlights are similar to the Evo X Concept. Nice design btw.

It's called reference.
There's nothing wrong with it. Obviously he didn't straight trace or even grid it.
There's many differences in his piece.
It's a fine drawing.

Yes i agree, better then i could do without a grid

Nothing wrong with looking off a real image to draw. Even IF he traced it, he still added his own touch to it AND shaded it. He did a great job!

I just reread my message.
I got no issues with grid or tracing. Both are viable illustration methods that are time tested.
In my experience it's never mattered how you did what you did...it only matters what it looks like. If it looks good you did good.

i usually just lurk here every once in a while, but your drawing caught my eye because it looked extremely familiar.

(the bar between the upper and lower grilles was originally charcoal-colored and has been mspainted orange, sorry i couldn't find a better copy.)
i forget the exact source of this image, but i'm fairly sure it was a speculation from a car magazine a few years ago on what the new evo would look like. the resemblance is uncanny, isn't it? i'll leave my comment at that.
I'm not really sure if i ever said I never used a reference pic.. But just to clerify to everyone, Thats the photo I used for my reference.. If you go to google.com click on images, then type in EVO CONCEPT.. that picture will appear..
So now that everyone here knows what my reference picture looks like- FROLO, WHATS YOUR POINT?
I'm not here to take credit for the concept design, I simply drew the picture, Changed it to my liking, and shaded it.. Whats so wrong with that?
LURK ON FROLO! :)

what we're led to understand here is that this is an idea you've pulled straight from your head. prior to your most recent post, you gave no indication that you used a reference. you should cite your references readily and explicitly if you have any, because not doing so can get you into trouble, even if it's fairly irrelevant here.
at no point did i intend to criticize the quality of the work. it's a nice drawing.
Sorry but i was not aware that you MUST indicate a reference if having one. I appologize for not knowing the posting of artwork rules.. My bad ;)

Ya know Im sick of people tryin to catch everyone tracing or cheating. It hurts feelings. When Ya gotta prove ur work. Ur lookin for crits and cred. And some jerkoff is tryin 2 disprove ur work. F that. I say pick up a pen and shut yo mouth.

I'm trying to figure out when tracing or any use of
a ref pic became a crime. I use some kind of ref pic for almost
every one of my toons.
And I often recommend to beginners to try tracing an image, (several times even) to help learn the perspective and proportional balance of a vehicle.
GB nailed it with her comments. At least I think, most people post images here to get help with their style and techinque and share they hard work--not to
prove they really did the artwork.
