I'm looking for a cranksaft to my Blazer -98 V6 engine. Local junkyard has some Astro vans from year -90.
Do anyone know if cranksafts from those engines fit to my engine?? My engine is W (eight digit) and one of those Astros is W and two others are Z.

The 1990 will NOT work, it will not be machined for crank position sensor reluctor wheel. Read the engine builder article in one of the sticky posts at top. You also need to learn if it is a heavy or light crank. They all will "fit" as a junkyard will tell you, but the wrong one will cause a balance problem.

Better to go with a regound crankshaft kit from parts place.
Crank already ground and bearings to fit.
Not much higher than buying bearings and it will fit and work good.
You gota watch on used crankshaft because gm has a bad habbit of throwing in over and undersize bearing to make up for poor machine work on OEM engine.

Sometimes it is best to get your old crank fixed (if you have one) , If it isn't bent too bad or cracked then the balance will be as good as it was before.

Old one is bend something like 3mm from center. I think I go for regrinded one. It's very hard because everything has to be ordered from US, they don't have anything here in Europe... We can't even use gmpartsdirect, because they don't ship abroad...
Anyway thanks guys, you are very helpfull...

I have always went with the crank kits. All your work and running around is already done for you. You have your crank already turned ready to go in a box ready to GO. Mains in the box ready to GO. Rods in the box ready to GO and you know that the journals have been turned to fit the bearings.
