What would you guys recommend for my 00 mustang v6 for spark plug wires? should i go oem or go performance? is there really much of a difference? this is the first set of wires i've ever replaced (the infiniti had coils)

if Ford Racing cary's them get them. better wires tend to smooth out the cars idle a tiny bit, and its never a bad thing to have a stronger spark.

You might as well get OEM's, there isent really any performance in spark plug wires.

by looking at my engine bay, i can bet its gonna be a lot of fun getting the plugs on the left side...

I have always heard that, for the GT at least, that the plugs and wires were pretty good and it wasn't worth upgrading for a stock motor. I would be willing to bet that the same goes for your mustang.

yea i was thinking that but i didn't want to go out and spend 50 bucks less if it'll be a gigantic increase or something like that, and i looked at my bay too.... as a noob to wires, i am going to have a real fun time doing this lol.
but these plugs are needing to be replaced and i just don't want to waste money on snake oil. what plugs do you use?

Aw jeez, don't get iridium plugs! Don't even get platinum plugs. Get the plain old cheap Autolite copper plugs for $1.00 each. They will work just as well if not better for 1/8th the price. The only recommendayion I ever saw for iridium plugs was from Turbo magazine......like they didn't get paid to say that. :disappoin

iridium plugs = 90k, $1 plugs = 15-30k

watch it on the wires on the passenger side. one of them may run next to a hot pipe if you dont watch it, and it will eventually melt through the insulation and short out and burn the wire in half. that happened to me. it was pretty obvious, since cylinder 3 stopped firing. i dont know exactly what it looks like down there but try to avoid running the wires to close to any hot pipes. needless to say, i got another tune up... lol

By your guesstimate, 3x longer life, but 8x the price.....such a deal.
