Please give input to my idea of turning my 91 New Yorker Salon into a sleeper, if it is at all feasable.

Not really, but you could do the Turbo II, III, or IV engine swap and you would be eating a lot of cars for lunch.

What engines are you talking about, and where could i get one?

Alright, I'll run them down for you. You can get anyone of them from a Chrysler dealership. They might require some modifications to the engine bay so they can bolt in and your existing transmission might not bold up to the engine and/or be able to take the power.
Turbo II:
2.2L I4 with an intercooler Garrett T3. Bulletproof engine, VERY reliable.
Turbo III:
2.2L I4 with the Lotus head and an intercooler Garrett, I am not sure which turbo. The 2.2 with the Lotus head seems to like snapping timing belts, so you might want to avoid this engine unless you want to change the timing belt often.
Turbo IV:
2.2L I4 with and intercooled Garrett VNT turbo. This is the same as the turbo II except it has a VNT turbo which means variable nozzle turbo. It has two impellers, one for low end boost and one for high end boost. Get this one if you can. It has the same amount of power as the turbo II except it has less turbo lag.
The Turbo III is the most powerful of the group, but can be very costly if that timing belt snaps, and I hear they do a lot more often than they should. The TurboII and IV are close power wise but are one of the most reliable four cylinder engines you can get they are heavily forged and last a long time. My turbo II had 152,000 miles on it before it was totaled recently and it was running just fine at 14 PSI of boost.
