Replacing Radiator

Replacing the radiator on a 95 Rodeo. It has a manual transmission. What is the cannister located next to the radiator and how to disconnect the radiator. Any other hints for removing and replacing appreciated.

I remember this being a very easy job on my '97. Disconnect the hoses. Remove the fan shroud. I had to disconnect ATF cooler lines, which you won't have to worry about. Two bolts/brackets hold the rad in place. Lift the old one out, slide the new one in. I'm not sure what cannister you are talking about. Which engine do you have? Again, this was on my '97 and I don't have my manual here to look at the possible differences. Good luck! Curious to know which radiator you'll be switching to.

Dont know if its the same on the '95 as on my '99 but on mine the reciever for the a/c is next to the condensing coil, which it sounds to me like that is what stubblefield is looking at. You dont want to mess with it.

The radiator would be on the engine side of the rad support, the condensing coil would be in front of it. You dont need to mess with the condensing coil or reciever to change out the radiator.

Thanks for the advice. My son got the radiator out as suggested above. He bought the radiator at Schucks because he wanted it right away. It was a one size fits all and had capped tubes for connections to the AT cooling which caused a little confusion. The device next to the radiator is the AC condenser, one of the tubes appeared to go into the radiator.

Ran into that with my first radiator swap in my Jeep a couple years ago. Just left them capped. Glad you got it done. Saved some money!
