Again I just order another halo headlight, from another ebay seller. He say it doesnt come with bulb, my question is

1: Is all halo headlight use H1 and H3 bulb ?
2: Is silver start good light bulb, or any other brand that is good, i want it bright and last long.
3: Anyny web site can I can buy headlight bulb from, auto zone sell for $20 each bulb ( H1 and H3 )
4: I knew halo thing will be burn out after couple week, so I I dont want to use it, just leave the halo wire alone without connect it to parking light ?

1) I believe 99% of aftermarket headlights use H1's or H3's (H3's I belive)
2) Sylvania Silverstars are excellent headlights, I have them in my Monte and I love them.
3) You should be able to buy bulbs at alot of online stores. Google is your friend.
4) Yes you can go without installing the halo wire.

all you need to keep the halos from bruning out is a fuse...

Black Knight 00
11-09-2006, 04:47 PM
what do you mean? like hook up a fuse between the halos and the parking light?

Black99GST
11-09-2006, 08:44 PM
yeah. i dont remember the amprage (s/p) of the Halo, but i belive its probably 10 amps or so... but if you place a fuse between the parking light, and the positive wire on the halo, that will keep it from burning out. my buddy went through a set of halo projectors in a week, then asked me for advice when he bough new ones... we stuck a fuse in the mix, and the halo's have been working evey day for about 11 months now :2cents:

did you just tie the + and the wire to the parking brake to the fuse or did you find something to hold the whole thing together?

Just put an inline fuse holder in the + wire for the halo, it's really not that hard at all, shouldn't take more than 10 minutes.

Take it to a bodyshop and have them alter the bumper so the gap goes away. Or just live with it like I have been.

about the fuse, just get 10amp fuse and connect each cable to one side of the fuse, and parking brake cable to another side of the fuse ?

gthompson97

Why does everybody connect something to the parking brake cable? No killer, you just cut the power line, and then insert the fuse and crimp everything back together.

the positive wire... between your OEM wire harness, and the new Halo light. so you have the new halo wires right? ok so connect the ground from the Halo to the oem PARKING LIGHT (not handbrake :screwy: ) then connect the positive wire from the HALO to a 10 amp fuse,on the other side of the fuse, connect the OEM positive PARKING LIGHT (not handbrake :screwy: :screwy:) wire. EASY! ;)

How good are these Halo head lights?
i need to buy new head lights because the person that owned the car before me limo tinted the head lights and i couldnt see a god dam thing.
I tryed all the tint remover stuff none of that worked so i used a razor blade by the time i was done the head lights looked like i sanded off the tint.

neways the head lights are scratched to hell and back and i was looking at these head lights as a option

Try not to bring back threads older than a month unless you are the original poster and have new info to add. Granted your question is legitimate, please just post up a new thread. Welcome to AF.

Some people have good experiences with aftermarket headlights and some have bad. I suggest not ordering from ebay, get them directly from an online source. The halos will most likely burn out, but there's an article on www.dsmtuners.com on how to replace them yourself if you have a bit of electrical knowledge.
