Ever have one of those moments when you just develop a case of the dumbass,or rectal cranium inversion as I refer to it? Well, I got one major case of it when I was doing this build. After painting the cowling a nice shiny black, and letting it de-gas for about a week, I started adding the decals. I did one whole side of the cowling as there weren't a lot of decals. At this point I got ready to add the stripes that carry up onto the front of the bike This is where the dumbass part comes in. Both sides stripes are covered by the yellow number plate and #7 on the front of the bike. I added this and thought "This looks damn good". I turned in for the evening and let everyting dry. Round about 3am, it hits me...."I didn't add the other side stripe underneath the nose decal!!" Sure as death, the next morning there it is staring at me in the face. One absolutely gorgeous decal job.....but only on one side, and there is absolutely no way to fix it short of stripping the decals and starting over!:banghead: :banghead: Well, thats what I did. The tank, and rear of the bike were fine, and I contimued with decaling those. Going to order another set of decals and hopefully not make the same mistake again. AArrrghhh! Here's where it is currently. Thanks, Matt-

Yep! I've had those moments too!
Love the build! I wish this kit had been around when I started my Akai bike!

That's a shame. It's a great kit. Recently built one as well. Best of luck with fixing it.

I can't really see the decal issue before me... seems really bad to have to start it all over though. You're sure you cant cut the last piece of decal in some way? If not, I would recommend you to use some decal solution and try to remove the decal without hurting the paint job.

I had already stripped the decals off and repainted the cowling when I took these pics. I tried using Micro Sol to no avail. No way to cut the remaining decal either. I should have taken pics of it so you could better see what happened, but I was just too ticked off and stripped it. Looks like I got some replacements headed my way soon enough though. I'll get some pics up "simulating" what happened to better explain it. Thanks for the suggestions and reply. Matt-

Aha, so that cowl was after your "headache"? And the guardian angel Rod the decal daddy was kind enough to get to the rescue! Glad to hear it sorted it self out.

Please send me a message with your adress.
I've build this bike in an other livery and have all the akai decals on the bench.
You can have them to complete your bike.
