Had mine for almost 30years now. Learned from the old school. Get in and drive. Too much red tape in truckin now. Every state has it's own set of rules. You have to be more like a legal wizzard than a truck driver. But good luck anyways.

Post pics of your rig when you get one. Would love to see it. The truck you drive can make or break the whole experience.

^ please don't post whore.

Congrats. I definantly admire anyone who can back those things up into some parking lots, or deal with all the idiot drivers on teh road.
Also, since you're in NY, try not to run any red 3000gts off the road. :bigthumb: twice in a year is plenty for me already.

Does this happen when you are pacing the truck or passing? I didn't know that if you zoom up to the back of a truck and merge into the left lane when reasonably close to the truck, the driver can't see you. Better to get over early so he/she sees you in the mirror. Learned this real quick when I cut off a car driving as stupid fast as I do :evillol:

No, I'm not an idiot. I show extra respect for truck drivers and bikers, because of the added complexity/danger for them. The first time, the truck driver was just a jackass who intentionally tried to run me off hte road. I had some car troubles and was limping the car home. Most of the highway was 55mph, which was the maximum speed I was willing to go. Parts went up to 65mph. I was on cruise control with my blinkers flashing, in the right lane, at 55mph the entire way. I guess the trucker didn't like that, and as he passed me on the left, he switched over early and ran me off the road.

Second time was last week. Either the trucker didn't see me (unlikely) or he just didn't look, or he was being an idiot. There was a slower moving truck in front of him, I was doing 80 in a 65 in the left lane. He should have applied his brakes and let me pass before cutting over, but instead jerked sideways into my lane a few feet in front of me, causing me to lock up the brakes or ram him in the rear. Can't say that one was intentional...but it was dumb.
