has anyone sent their IPC(instrument panel cluster) to any place such as southern electronics in virginia to have it repaired or exchanged ?
we have a 98 achieva with a security issue where it is shutting off injectors at startup and we replaced the igntion lock cylinder after gm said that was bad, but to no avail, plus the instrument cluster is all screwy and lights are fluttering and guages are erratic even the speedo too
80k miles 3.1L and 4T60 trans
any info or referrals would be great, and even better if someone here has done the same thing with their IPC after having the same symptoms with their car
thanks

They charge a flat rate for repair. Best to call Southern Electronics at 1-800-572-2880.

good deal i emailed them and they said to first try unplugging the ABS module and see if the car will run and if not then send the IPC to them,
the car still didnt start and stay running so i sent them the IPC and im now awaiting news on it,
it was only 11 bucks to mail it to them Fed Ex ground
they said 220 will cover repairs
thanks

alright the IPC arrived today and i just installed it an hour ago and i am going ot wait until the morning to try and start it, the instructions they sent with the IPC say to try and start it and if it dies then leeave the key on for 10 minutes then try again
anyone who has an achieva that dies immediately after starting up for no apparent reason(even after going through the entire car and replacing the ign cylinder lock switch too) should follow this
also if it may have erratic glitches in the lights and guages
the backboard of the IPC needed rebuilt and thats what they said was causing the glitches and the car to die at startup everytime
will find out in the morning
