Both are black on black leather SEs.
#1. 98 automatic completely stock with 34k on it for $13,900.
#2. 97 5-speed with springs, shocks, strutbar, camber plates, 48K on it for $14,900.

If the stick wasn't already modified, I'd say get that one. But since it is modified, and only because it's modified, get the auto.
Reason I say that is because, a modified car will have problems not readily visible and could come up later. But then again, that's with any used car.:D

Definately agree with DVSNCYNIKL...go with the "unmodded" car. You can customize it how you want it, as well as know that the unmodded car most likely hasn't been driven as hard as the modded one. That's a pretty good deal as well on the auto.

I agree with you on the part about mods but I really want a 5 speed. It's the original owner who claimed to have babied and never beaten the max and has the extended 100k warranty. There's only top name brand suspension mods and no engine mods on it. Decisions decisions.

I'd say keep looking for an unmodded 5 speed... Good luck! :D

if you want a 5-speed get a 5-speed otherwise you'll always be kicking yourself for getting an automatic.

Don't get me wrong, I understand you want a five speed. But might I suggest you look for one that is unmodded. One thing I have to say, and since you're in my neck of the woods so to speak, if that Maxima was mine, and I'm trying to sell it, I will tell you what you want to hear just so that I can get rid of it. The car might be in pristine condition, but just from experience, and past situations, modded cars almost always have some form of problem. Again, maybe the car is in good shape, you are seeing it, not me. I just prefer to stay away from them because of the more possibility of there being problems. I would rather find one stock and mod it myself. That way, I know I have a fresh platform to work from.
I would also like to suggest to you, you might want to look into purchasing a car from like Rhode Island. Very inexpensive, and the cars out there are not even abused. Plus the fact that they have mostly highway miles as opposed to city miles. A friend of mine purchased his Teg from out there. I can't recall how much he paid, but that same car here in the city was going for way more than what he paid for it. It also helped that the original owner of the car was an old man. Kept it garaged and maintained. Sweet deal if I say so myself.
Holla!!

Thx for the suggestions. I think I'm going to keep looking for an unmodded standard whip. I'm in NYC but wouldn't even consider buying a car from out here. I've been looking in NJ, PA, LI, RI and DE. I'm even looking in Florida cause I'm flying down there next week. Stay tuned...

Yes you have way more options in Miami if you can get a hold of an autotrader from Dade & Broward County thats the Miami area and quite a bit up North of Miami. Just keep looking for that 5-speed. Thats were I bought my car from.
