Hey
Picked this kit up last weekend and just gut started on it yesterday. Not a bad looking kit, 2 things which i dont like is the rims are abit big for the arch as i noticed when you install the Veilside side skirt it touches the wheel when positioned, il fix this unless i use a set of 17" which will fit well!
Also i noticed that the front bumper is abit small and doesnt resemble the box art to well, oh and when i opened the hood i realised that it gonna be hard to get an engine in there as its not very high and little room! Anyways less talk on this one!
Not alot of modifications but this is what i have come up with, feel free to add to the list!
-Custom Muffler
-Racing Seats
-Aftermarket or Scratch built seatbelts
-RB26-DETT Converted to RB20-DET(Take from Tamiya Skyline R32)
-Tacho and Timers
-Sports steering Wheel
-Wired Engine, will actualy follow reference pics :) for once! i hope.....
Thats bout it...here are some pics!

red looks really nice with that body kit. I was a bit displeased with this kit as well, and have already taken the body kit and used it on other projects, so I'll be using the stock parts for this build (it's really nice that they left them in there, so you could use the body kit elsewhere, and still have a decent kit to build).

Hey agen, now i have done some progress on it but soz but i dont have camera atm. Working on then Engine walls etc. Hopefully going to get an RB26 engine sometime soon so i can get started on the engine. Now for colours i dont really have any ideas, i dont want black or blue cos i use them to often. Like someone suggested maybe a red or yellow??
Aint used those colours before, for interior im going to use black and the colour i choose for the body....thnx for looking!

Hey all, sorry for the slow progress, now you all have something to comment about, its sprayed with tamiya Metallic Black for a show car look, havent polished it yet but will do soon, worked on engine but no pics, it will be a suprise when its done!
Paint looks fairly good i reckon but will look great after polish! Interior done in metalic black aswell, will start on interior once finished body. Still have to do trims, lights, details etc
Im happy with the look so far, here are the progress pics...hope you all like!

The front bumper doesn't look like its completely covered in paint. If you look at the openings on the front, they dont look covered. It looks very cool overall. Keep it up.

Make sure you clear coat first or youll risk messing up the mettallic paint with polishing.

thnx for the comments guys, yeh the gaps in the front bumper are mostly painted but some bits were really hard to paint. Thankyoufor the tip with the clearcoat, didnt no that it can ruin metallic, oh i have used clearcoat only once before and it didnt work to well, what is the best way to spray it and do you clearcoat after decals???
Thnx for looking!

back agen, front bumper isnt on properly, just a mockup to show you, the chassis is completed and took me a good 30mins to get the perfect ride height which i think i achieved! no clearcoat or bodydetails, should i do a silver window trim or leave black??

Nice progress so far. Rims aren't my taste though. Stance is hard to tell from shots above the model...is better to take them from the side, but from what I can see, looks good so far. Can't wait to see the engine too. Not too sure about having interior done in metallic black too, but will see the end results.

yeh the rims i have changed, they are way to big for the arch and they dont turn or move properly. I have used smaller rims from the nismo r32 and they seem to suit it, should they stay black or go with a silver??
Im noticing slight chips and marks in the black paint should i re-apply some black or what is best! thnx for looking, engine is coming along nicely, added turbo, sr20det, BOV, wires, pics to come soon!

Finally got around to getting some progress done on this B***h of a car!! 1 of the worst models i've built...*Never buy old Fujimi Models* To tell the truth i was shocked! opened the box to uncover a totally different veilside front bumper to the box art! it was as if some1 flattened it at the front!! meh didnt even end up using it!
Since last post the car has undergone some rework! New rims*Tamiya Style* might paint them black! vertex look a like front bodykit (no putty used) re worked interior! Newblack paint job with silver splat effect! going to do some decal work on this attempted *Show Car* Interior not done! seats for decoration!
Hope you like!

do the window trim in a semi gloss black, it will actually contrast the metallic and will look really good. I know it's a bit late, but the side skirts could have been shortened by just trimming the ends down a little, and covering the resulting gap with some really thin styrene.
paint looks great, that color really looks good on the veilside kit. be sure to do a smoke wash to the center of the wheels for a bit of added realism.
looks great, I may have to recover my parts so I can build this car too!!! haha

I had some truoble with the side skirts from the start and didnt think they would matter a great deal! with the Tamiya rims they havent done anything to stop them from movin! Today i will hopefully get the trim and front suspension/tyres done!
Thnx

Donīt worry, I build models for some years and my paint jobs are still experiments. Maybe you test your paint plans on a spare body first.
The paint suits Veilside and if you cover the car with decals it can look hot.:grinyes:
