I haven't really had a chance to hang around here as much as I wanted, plus I had nothing maro related to talk about so I thought I'd provide a thread where everyone can catch up to the events dealing with your cars this fall.

What cars do you currently own? Condition?
Are you working on a project?
Recently, what were your best races?
Any accidents? tickets? trouble with the law (that you can talk about)?

I've got my Iroc-Z back home with my parents, and have my Nissan up here. i want to sell it soon to either buy a truck or invest the money, since I can take the bus here at college.
Project? A Big One, For those that don't know, I reloaded UA's auto club and we're growing fast.
Race? My nissan is stock and I was in a hurry to meet my friends at the mall, TO SEE BORAT!!!! and on the way, I take off fast on green and this integra races me, I'm like wtf I'm going to the movies not racing, I heard he had a loud sport muffler, I was still ahead of him and he was on my ass, until I realized I was in 4th, oh shit no no engine don't blow, so I powershifted into fifth and ...guess he wasn't much of a challenge, I barely saw his headlights in the mirror when I took the exit for the mall. I think that was the first time I raced...ever
Trouble with the law...too many parking tickets, damn city police. And that's my Fall of 06. I miss my Camaro. So lonely.

Well I got my 93 Camaro z28 (as in sig). Since I did the engine swap its beening running like a champ, like its brand new (swapped in used engine with 106k miles). I also have my Nissan Sentra, its in rough conidition like always, burns oil badly. Hopefully going to sell it real soon.

My 93 Camaro is kinda my daily driver and project car at hte same time. I've been fixing this here and there. Right now I'm trying to patch the door up. Before I got the car it had been stolen and they broke the drivers side door around the lock, so the lock is not attached to the door now. But im fixing that so all is good. When that gets done, I'm thinking about doing a little body work and paint (getting rid of those god awful stripes).

Best race recently was probably a Toyota Tundra. my poor shifting allowed him to hold with me, but once I got to third it was over.

no accidents, and no tickets (thank god.)

Well, mines a Firebird but maybe I will post it up here anyways... lol

My 92 Firebird just recently developed a nasty leak at the rear main seal and I'm not sure if I wanna fix it now. It's losing almost a quart of oil a week. :( I really don't wanna pull the motor to fix it because its only a 3.1L and if I'm gonna do all that work I have two routes to go.

1. Rebuild the 3.1L with a few different internals so I can turbocharge it next summer.
2. Pull the motor and drop a 305 or 350 in it.
3. Just sell the car and get a newer Trans Am or other car.

If I do end up keeping it then I'll definetly be doing some sort of tan/black recovering to the door panels and I'll definetly be redoing my headliner soon as its starting to sag a bit. The rear fenders could use a little bit of work as they've developed some lovely Ohio rust.

Any thoughts as to which route I should take? Unless somebody knows of a simpler way to repair the rear main seal. :dunno:

My Camaro got me into a little but of trouble a couple of weeks ago.

I was wathcing some of my friends play a game on intramural ice hockey at the arena on campus. After the game I was driving out of the parking lot and I passed some of them loading there gear into their cars. They yelled at me and heckled me into doing a burnout...

So of couse I stop the car, put in the clutch, hit the gas for a second, let it out for a second, just enough to cause the wheels to spin, nothing more. No tire marks, no cloud of smoke (okay, maybe a puff, but thats it, I cant afford new tires).

Then as I pull away I see a public saftey patrol Jeep on the other side of a guard rail in the road parallel to the parking lot, and I'm like "OH SHIT" I procede to the end of the lot, and he pulls far enought foward to block me in (strangly, he didn't put on his lights). He rolls down his window, I roll down mine. He pretty much scolded me for a minut, asked me if I was a student, where I was going. The he said somehing I didn't understand and just left.

I figured at this point since he wasn't writing me a citation or anything, I was free to go and slowly drove off. Meanwhile all my frinds are laughing their asses of.

Here's an amusing stoplight story. I was following a friend home and pulled next to him at a red light. He has an 90-something lumina, but thats not importaint to the story. When the light tunred green, tires spun and I didn't see this as I was in the left lane, but appaernty, there was a blind man standing on the sidewalk, and he jumped after having the shit scared out of him from all of the noise!

Oh yeah, I won, with 4 people in the car and short shifting out of first (don't ask me why, I just did). But, my friend did back off after seeing the blind man jump, so I don't know if that counts. But it is a lumina, so I would have beat him anyway.

My 4wd in my Jeep decided to work only when it wanted to last winter, so I decided to fix that yesterday. Turned out one of my vaccum lines was corroded away and I just by passed the part corroded and put electrical tape over another end and now it works and is offically trail tested. My camaro has some frustrating electrical issues and school has been taking a lot of my time so I dropped it off as a friend's shop and it should be done sometime this week. I think my trans is taking a dump on me too so beefing that up is going to be my next project.

As far as the law, I was over in BFE craig county on a trail and had to go #1. I went off the trail, in the middle of the woods mind you, and let 'er rip and wouldn't you know it an off duty cop comes right behind me and decides he is going to cuss me out and tell me about how if he wasn't off duty he would lock me up blah, blah, blah. I didn't do anything wrong, not really in public in the middle of the woods about an hour from and paved or graveled road, so I just told him he could eat it and went about my way.

ive got a 1986 camaro z28 which is now in storage for the winter, some of my plans include UMI tubular LCA's, panhard bar, and subframe connectors and a non-adjustable torque arm, im building a 355 for it, running a stock gm forged steel crank, LT1/LT4 powdered metal connecting rods or eagle i beams(dont knwo yet), Speed Pro .030 over hyperuetectic pistons. GM "441" heads, new guides and seats, gasket match porting, Manley ss valves, comp cam valve spring. Im going to run a comp cams K-Kit, .480" lift, 110 lobe separation, comp cams, pro magnum steel 1.5 ratio roller rocker arms. edelbrock torker aluminum intake, id like to see around 400 HP from the motor. for the transmission, im going to rebuild the stock 700R4, put a shift kit in it(transgo, not that b and m crap), 2500 rpm stall converter, derale deep trans pan with cooling tubes, moroso trans cooler. im going to buy a aluminum driveshaftf from john. going to fix all the little problems and i will hopefully have a good fun street/bracket car. replacing carpet and floormats, ran all the wiring for my new stereo and gauges. and got my new soffseal weatherstriping this weekend=(. hopefully i can put a 12 bolt in it next summer with 33 spline axles, a posi and 4.10 gears, but who knows what will happen between now and then

....Oh and another story!

Friday night me and a friend went for pizza. I came to a stop sign, and had to wait for some small lady in a SUV (Honda Element?) to make a left turn as the street she was turning from didn't have a stop sign. Anyway, she took FOREVER to make the turn. I was watching her and could tell she couldn't see over the door and was afraid she would hit me. She NEVER came close, as I could see the entire side of her fat ass vehicle throughout the turn :banghead:. FINNALY when it was clear I hit the gas to around the turn. Since this [woman] took her sweet time I didn't notice a sebring creeping up the hill to the left where I wanted to turn. I jam on the brakes, he swerves left, and thankfully nobody had a scratch.

And more importantly, the Camaro didn't have a scratch.:)

And most importaintly, my insurnace company won't rape my wallet for years to come!:grinyes:

Maybe in the future I look twice before I turn left. Or maybe in the future I'll lead a crusade agianst short women in SUVs. Or maybe in the future I'll avoid drining around Troy, NY at all cost (seriously, what crack head planned this city's roads with sooooo many narrow sidestreets, off-set intersections, poorly lit cross streets w/o stop signs, and freaking s-bends :banghead: )

Or maybe, in the future, I'll write one loooooooooooong post about my adventures instead of three hundred normal sized ones. :grinno: What do you think?:dunno:

well i have a z28/f1 camaro..of the lt1 fam...represent baby...^^^^^
hell ive just put 3k worth of work into it the past 3 weeks...long tubes,y pipe, kumo's, new tail lights, gears, tranny cooler, and a few odds and ends...oh and i 4got a pair of good heads that im having sent off to be worked...next up is cam, fix the dreded lt1 oil leak (dont say it john your just a lucky sob), and rebuild the bottom end to support my small 150 shot im gonna add to the mix. so shes almost done.....as for tickets and shit, hell im on the side of the road as much as im in the road lol. last month i got pulled by a state trooper that clocked me over 100, he let me go...i was a lucker bastard that day! as for races..i got up on a ss impala i think it was a 96 or 97. he tried to get me with the ricer fly and i waited for him to get to my bumper and i punched it...he never got past my front door...love that stall baby. and a few weeks ago on my way to the gym i had a kid in a 01-04 mustang gt...he was spraying, u can tell by the black plum of smoke that puffs out for a brief second when he sprays.... i was trying to pass him and he wouldnt let me. so i got an open area of highway and diped over and he punched it...i think he was surprised to look into his rear view and there i was behind him...so even with the spray that car sucked ass (no love for ponies). i never got next to him to go from a roll... we ended up running into a patch of traffic at 130 and he decided to pass in the emergency lane, so i chilled. its all good but dangerouse to street race but it doesnt help to have an asshole who is risking others by doing dumb shit like that. so i just shut it down. thats all for now

Camaro is back and kickin'. She flies now that the wiring is straightened out. Dude had the alarm hooked to the power windows, MSD, wipers, and just about everything else on the car :shakehead. He also had loose ends covered in tape, and about a thousand splices all over the place so my buddy just rewired the whole thing. I guess that the wiring had something to do with the trans cause now it shifts pretty amazing, hard and fast insead of not at all. Now I just need some good weather on friday and I'll hopfully have some 8th mile times for it.

I still have the 92 camaro, right now i am finishing up the rest of my body work and primer for winter. It still runs great. I am getting ready to get my 275's in the rear. And a New open maf air cleaner and i got my flowmasters on. This winter i plan on getting my posi 3.73's with a shift kit. Spring i want to put my LT1 camshaft in that i got from John. Along with my headders and performer intake manifold and get it tuned. And if i have money left i would like to get my 4in cowl hood. Same thing here, not manny races, there are all 4 bangers around me.

been driving around with a blown up tranny (1-2 and 2-1 shifts are automatic still, all others are manual, and from a stop hav to roll into it slowly or the torque converter gives the effect of insane wheelhop), waiting on my converter before putting my built tranny in, have headers on the way, and should see 13s end of this season (if it's done in time) or beginning of next

looking for a beater/DD/winter car too, right now a friend scoped out a 91 5 speed sentra for 600 bucks and another friend found a older VW fox 5sp for 700.. and uh i guess that's pretty much it for now

87 pontiac firebird, currently it has a new crate stock 4 bolt main 350 in it. but im gonna pull it back out sooo to put the 406 sbc im building. well it might end up a little bigger then 406, still measuring up the motor to see about boring and what rods and pistons i wanna use. but it will be pushing at least 500 ft lbs of torque at wheels. MINIMUM! if not im pissed. and hopefully around 460-510 hp. we will see when i start spanding cash out the wazoo. i might sell my firebird with the stock 350 in it to buy a nicer less rusted camaro for my 406 to be put into. we will see. hope my numbers are right!

Still have my 1983 Camaro, but the brakes are out right now so I'm driving in a borrowed truck for the time being.

Trying to figure out why my rear brakes don't work :frown: see my post.

I haven't had a best race recently, since I haven't had my car for a while, but my best race in the past year or so involved a guy in a neon who thought he was hot shit... he drove up, gave me three honks and took off. It was really one sided but it still felt good to make him look stupid in front of his passengers.

I got pulled over about 3 months ago one night for driving without my headlights on... the cop was pretty understanding though since I had just pulled out of my driveway when he nailed me. I didn't get a ticket.
