Welcome to AF. To change the thermostat on the quad motors plan on getting dirty. If you look down the back of the motor under the exhaust manifold, you will see a pipe coming out of the back of the water pump. There is a cover held on by 2 bolts. Remove those 2 bolts. Under the car there is a bolt holding a pipe to the oil pan. Remove the bolt, pull the pipe down and take the thermostat out. When you install the new thermostat, make sure you use new gaskets and o-rings where necessary. If you don't have lift access this job will probably take you a couple of hours due to the small spaces you are working in. I found the easiest way to get the cover bolts off is to reach down from above with a socket, universal and a couple of extensions. Good luck, don't forget to drain the cooling system before you start anything.

thank you for your help!
Um. well we started the job by what we found out from the book, my dad has worked on cars his whole life but this is one car that he needs to upgrade his books on! We have alot of space and alot of tools to do it, thats no problem, the problem is, is that my dad is still stuck on his day in age kind of cars haha... which isnt a bad thing, but anyways to get on with it, we did get the two bolts off the top like you said but we still didnt get anywhere, im guessing it is because of the bolt underneath. thank you for the help ill let you know how it goes later we called it a night, we messed with a broken brake line for a friend earlier and it was a bitch.! Thanks again!
