no heat

hi i just bought a 1994 pontaic bonneville. with a 3.8Liter the car has 187,000 miles on it. anyway the car has no heat. i mean i turn the knob to the red and all it do is blow cool air. i check the coolant level in the radiator it was full. the coolant in the resvoir was dry. but i fill that up to the full cold mark. any help would be appreciated.

Several cases on this forum of blocked air mix actuator..some blocked on the hot position, some blocked on cold.

If this is the case, you should notice no change in the sound of the air stream when you move the TEMPERATURE control from cold to warm. NOrmall this moves the air mix door to pass air through the heater core or to bypass it and one can hear the difference.
THE electric motor that drives the mixer door is the most likely culprit in such a case.
At least consider that option as a first step.
