My 99 PAU, I love her, but she's not feeling so well. Lately she stalls, tachymeter falls to zero, and she cuts off alot. :frown: Went to get her inspected and was told the codes were showing I need a new crankshaft sensor (code comes and goes, so the sensor is probably the culprit) and it would cost about $250. AutoZone says the part is about $40 and can be replaced at home if you can get a diagram as to where the sensor is. Can someone PLEASE clue me in as to where I can find this info? Thanks so much in advance!

This procedure is for a 1997 Grand Prix GTP Series II 3800 engine and basically the same R&R for the 1999 Buick.:grinyes:

Although I didn't raise the question, just wanted to say thanks for the link. I bought a CKP a few months ago but couldn't determine what threads were needed for the puller so I was putting it off.

All in all an easy job. Did have to lower the engine a few inches so the puller would clear the body. But other than that, the procedure on the website is 100% correct...right down to the length of the bolts.
