'94 Range Rover won't start

A friend's '94 RR LWB 4.2 had started stalling when he would come to a stop, which had gotten worse and now the vehicle will not start at all. We cleaned the idle air bypass valve but it mad no change. Any suggestions as to what to try next? Plan on checking the fuel pump sometime tomorrow but I'm hoping there is something simple that I'm missing. Thanks for any help you can give.
