1987 Lebaron GTS - "power loss"

Hey all-

I just picked up a 1987 Lebaron GTS Turbo today for $300. It's got a couple problems. I am going to have to replace the drive axle and it leaks a bit of oil. Here is my question. When I go anywhere near WOT, it will pull nicely for a second or so, then it will cut out (fuel cut off???) and it will flash "power loss." What is this? My best guess is that the computer might be sensing too lean of an a/f ratio and is cutting the fuel and possibly then pushing all the boost through the wastegate. Am I right or is it something else? If I am right, anyone know how to fix this? I threw in some fuel injector cleaner today.

Sounds like a fuel problem, possibly blocked in the filter area, or worse a partially blocked catalyst, try taking the cat off an see what happens, apart from the noise the revs shud fly up. So its a cheapy fix if its filters.. :grinyes: or a few $$$ more for a catalytic converter..
