I went under the dash to use the paper clip method and there is only 2 slots on the connector that have wire going to them. One wire is orange and the other is black. The problem is that they are not in the usual position as other older model chevys that Ive read computers on before. Both are on one end and each is on the beginning of the row. If this model cant be read this way, will one of the readers they sell at the parts stores do the job?

You'll have to check your emissions certification label under the hood, as your95 model could be OBD-I or OBD-II. If it's OBD-II, a parts store scanner made for OBD-II can retrieve the codes. IF the car is OBD-I, then they can't, and it will require a professional type scan tool to pull them.
