I usually turn the TCS off when I drive. It's kinda weird, but I like it better that way. The other day the TCS light (the one that tells you something is wrong with the TCS) came on. It does so consistantly, at random times on the road, no matter if the TCS is on or off. Is this a standard failure with these cars, or do I need to get a shop manual and go from there. I'm more than sure it throws a code, is there a way to get that code without having a diagnostic tool?

Have you tried taking the battery cables off and holding them together for 60 seconds? That may work - that's how you can reset most check engine lights.

It's not the check engine light. It's the light that tells you theres a traction conrol problem specifically. And I would love to know what the problem is, not how to circumvent the issue.

So, you're looking to properly diagnose the tcs light without a diagnostic tool???? Good luck with that. :shakehead
