Stock....prob'ly the Shelby by a hair...but you'll pay about $35,000 - $50,000 more for the GT500.....that's a lotta mods that can be made to the Terminator.

I don't think 35-50000 more is a realistic estimate, although I agree that the brand new shelby is more costly than a 3 or 4 year old cobra.

Shelby's are supposed to retail for about $45,000...most are going for $65,000 and higher. Stealerships are markin' 'em up big time.

Actually they are invoice priced around 37000 and are suggested to sell for just over 40000. I agree that they are being marked up and that some may have paid outrageous prices, however I have heard prices more like 50 thousand. Not 65 +like many rumors and stories (which may or may not be true) have stated.

hair? how is a 12.4sec convertable a hair? You can make the Verts pull 12.1 w/ slicks. i have yet to see a 03-04 do 12.4 on stock tires while stock

Who has pulled 12.4 in the quarter on a STOCK '07 GT500? MM&FF ran a 12.2 with a 2.1 60'.

2003-2004 Cobra.... MM&FF got the car to do 12.43@ 113 mph bone stock. Its in the Nov 06 issue. That's what I would consider a hair slower than the GT500.....and for a hell of a lot less $.

GT500 hands down. In the 1/4 the GT500 is capable of very low 12's in the hands of a good driver..a Terminator can turn a number a smidge better than a 12.5 in the 1/4 but at least 50% of the angels have to be singing and every bird within a mile of the track absolutely must be farting downtrack to help with momentum.....put simply take a picture, because you wont likely see it twice. And the 0-60, 1/4 mile comparo is as good as it gets for the Terminator. From any kind of serious roll (think 30mph or better) the GT500 will leave a Terminator like it is tied to a pole.
Add to this the fact that the GT500 is Teri Hatcher while the Terminator is girl next door pretty, not to mention that the GT500 is a far better handler than the 03-04 snale, brakes better, is leagues more comfortable, and responds to mods even better than thosee Terminators did....and I'm left wondering what the debate is about.
If you have the money for either, want to go slower, get less power from equivelant mods, be much less comfortable, and ride in a car that wont ever be as good looking...by all means by a Terminator. Unless money is an object I can see no reason to pick the Terminator over the GT500.
