Z06 engine?

Does the Z06 use the same 350 the regular Corvette uses or is it using something slightly bigger? If they are using the 350 then, where do they get all the power from? What are they doing to it?

That is pretty impressive getting a bit over 400 hp with a few changes and its still a 350 ci. So its called a LS6...ok so whats the difference between an LS1 and an LT1?

I'll send you right back to the same place for the specs so you can compare to the LS1 link above - http://www.corvetteactioncenter.com/specs/1996/lt1lt4.html .
The LS1 is a completely different animal from the LT1. The 97 vette was, quite literally, new from the ground up. The LT1 used from 92-96 was in many ways a simple evolution of the 265 V-8 that first appeared in the 55 Vette. Though the LT1 was obviously more advanced and is in fact different from it's Corvette small block predecessors (265, 283, 327), it is the same iron block motor just more refined and tweaked to the gills. The LS1, however, is different in everyway possible except that it is still a pushrod V-8 (ain't broke, don't fix it). It isn't even the same displacement or even the same type of metal. Just compare the links above and you'll see.

Hey DeVil,
I just noticed you have a GTA! Way cool, man! I tell everyone that now that I have my Vette, the next two cars I want are a GTA and a 71 4-4-2.

So what exactly is used in my GTA? Is that a LT1 or is it an LS1?
It's a pretty sweet car the stereo system that came with it rocks. Two nice size subwoofers in the back, Beau(spelled that right?) speakers, tons of switches so you can play around with the stereo. One of the best things I like about the interior is the radio buttons on the steering wheel. Makes is so much easier.
Thats cool that you want one I didn't think many people cared about it much anymore. And a 4-4-2 there's another car you don't hear much of anymore. My father used to own a 68 I think by the time he was done with it I think the lowest he said he got it to was 12.4. Never got to see that car though I wish I could of. I couldn't even imagine how fast that must of felt.
I got a couple pics of my GTA, I'll just post them.

WOW, that GTA is nice dude! I notice VA plates, too! Don't know where you are but here in Manassas we have a really cool weekly cruise-in at a Burger King. I've only seen one GTA in 4 years but several 4-4-2s show up pretty regularly. If you're anywhere close you should bring that beauty over.
As for the motor, that depends on your tranny. If you have an auto then your car came with a 350 L-98 motor, if it's a stick then you have a 305 LB9. Both are Tuned-Port Injected but the 305 was mated with the stick because the 350 was too torquey and would do cause major body flexing and even break t-tops.

All GTAs came with Automatic in 88 I think.
Dude where in Manassas? I live in Woobridge it ain't that far of a drive for me. At least thats where my home is, I'm not in Woodbridge right now I'm at college in Newport News. When do you all meet up on the weekends? Maybe I'll come back home some week and ride up there.

It's at the Burger King on Rt 28 south of Manassas, near the Manassas airport. From Woodbridge, take the parkway to the new 234 bypass North. Follow the bypass to the exit for Rt 28 south. BK is on the left as soon as you get on 28.
The cars start arriving around 4pm and the crowd keeps coming and going til 9 or 10. I won't be there tomorrow as I have a website I have to get finished but will be there most Saturdays, weather permitting.
If you know when you might attend, send me a PM or email to let me know and I'll make sure I come check out that GTA.
