I have a 98 Intrigue and I'm curious as to whether or not swapping my digital, dual climate control for a manual one is possible?

Something wrong with your digital one? Or are you just like me and hate messing with all the knobs and gadgets just to get heat or air?:)

The AC keeps coming on when I have the heat on. It could be a normal function to maintain steady temp, I don't know, and yes, I hate messing with all the knobs and gadgets. They're very poorly located and designed and I find it distracting.

I'm sure it's possible, but you better do the work yourself and study-up with the service manual etc. If you can't do the work yourself, I would trade the car in for one with the manual option. The easy thing to do is read the service and operator manual and figure out what you or the system are doing wrong =there maybe nothing wrong with your system.

Your 1998 Intirgue is only worth $3000 or less.

Do you mean that for example if the car is freezing cold, and you set the temp to 72, that when the air starts blowing out(assuming the engine is warm) that the air is hot, but that over time the air cools down?

Mine does this too, and yes it is kind of annoying, what I do is just turn the temp up to compensate, but thats annoying as well.

I guess trading in the car is an option, but that seems a bit extreme given the circumstances.

I'm not gonna trade my car because of this ( I'll do it for plenty of other reasons) I was just wondering if it's at all possible to switch units. In the meantime, I'll just bear it.

My Intrigue has only 62k miles on it. I'm sure it's worth more than 3k

it's a 1998, maybe $4K at most.

used cars are not worth much anymore = good for someone that can fix them, bad for those that cannot. I enjoy the fact that Intrigues are cheap. I look forward to $1000 and $2000 Intrigues.

If you bought your car new -it's ok to cry. I paid $16,000 for mine but it was 6 months used, 17k miles. It has been a good car for me and is still a performer. I may be sticking with Intrigues for the next 10 years.

I just blue-booked mine the other day and its worth slightly over 4k. Thats a 2000 with 125,000+ miles on it.
