'91 Metro Quit, now won't start.

It stalled just as I parked at home. Next day, wouldn't start. It cranks, there is spark. I replaced the relatively new somewhat fouled plugs with NGKs.

Poured gas in Throttle Body and cranked to start it but no joy...wouldn't even catch. Starter fluid, same result.

Pulled new plugs and cranked it. #1 cyl fuel fouled, and seems like an excessive amount of fuel is coming out. I'm sure it's the lowest cylinder because it's parked at the curb, but really, it's an excessive amount of fuel
even for that!

Injectors usually plug up and cause a lean condition. This seems just the opposite!

Got code 13 (O2 sensor circuit) by putting a fuse in the fuseblock and turning on the key, then reading the flashes : 1, then 3.

Could a bad O2 sensor prevent it from starting?

To eliminate a flooding condition as a cause, I disconnected the fuel pump relay, blew out the flooding cylinder (#1), then sprayed starting fluid in the throttle body and cranked it over. It still won't fire.

Replaced cap, rotor, and timing belt. Still not starting, or even trying to. It cranks and gets a spark, though I dunno if it is sufficient spark?

I'm mystified!

What to do next????

Finally got it started. I think it was "bad gas"...condensation from the cold snap we had the night before it wouldn't start. I put "HEET" in the tank and got it started with starting fluid, and lots of cranking.

I hope this helps anyone who has a similar situation, especially with the colder temperatures upon us now.
