Hello
I just finished painting the monocoque of my Tamiya Benetton B192 I masked off to paint the green instead of using the decals this is my first model in long time. Well I got paint build up where the tape was:banghead:. I now realize I put the coats on to heavy and painting the monocoque has been a big learning experience been working on it for weeks. I wet sanded lightly with 2000 grit sandpaper but it took some of the shine of the green off. What should I do is this all right will the shine come back with a clear coat should I wet sand the hole thing?
Thanks
Dave

Hello,
Tamiya COMPOUND should help you finding back some of the shiny effect, but I wouldn't swear it will come back like it was...
You may have to repaint the car.

Yeah, masking is a nerve-wracking experience at the best of times. Sounds like you have a few ideas about what went wrong that you can apply in the future. After all, learning from our mistakes is how we improve in this hobby.
To answer your question about a clear coat, yes it should bring the shine back, will help smooth out any ridge between the yellow and green as well.
