Can someone please explain the fad/eccentricity behind cars like the one below? Surely they don't or can't legally drive these cars on the streets in Japan. Pic and more like it are from the link provided.

Those are some seriously UGLY cars. I'm not sure how anyone can get behind a trend like this. Nothing aesthetically pleasing about those. I don't get it.

I think the "rediculous" cars are known as VIP cars in Japan, try googling VIP cars.

That Previa on the first page actually looks really neat, except for the lower chin spoiler/air dam thing. I think almost any car with deep dish rims coupled with decent fenders can look pretty good....minus a lot of the crap they did to some of those cars. yuck.
