Bad coupler????

i know a coupler will rattle when it goes bad usualy. but i dont know what kind of rattle it makes or the sound of the rattle. on my way to work today i raced a 2005 mustang GT...sadly i lost but anyways my car seemed to be running good and all no noises no probs

on my way out to ge tlunch the car ran fine no probs but whe i came back out from lunch and got ready to leave after i started it up it began making a really loud sound it almost sounded like 2 washers were clinging against eachother or some keys on someones hip while walking except very loud. it continues the noise while driving and all the way back to work

after work i got in my car and i started it up. heard nothing. gave a lil gas. nothing. then i let it warm up a tad and it was there but very faint. but could still hear it. i dont have any lights on and the car runs clean and crisp.

now the sound was definetly coming from the left hand/front side of the engine so my first guess was a bad coupler. but like i said i dont know the sound it makes.

any ideas.

The coupler can make different noises but usually sounds like muffled rocks rolling around in a can. This sounds like a coupler to me. I would change it out, only costs about $50 with oil and it should cure the problem. If the noise continues after replacement you are probably looking at new bearings but I don't think that will be the case.

Sorry but you'll have to do better than that on the title. Not just question marks. Also, please try to keep similar topic threads together and not start a whole new thread. Thank you for your cooperation.

The answer to your question is no unless a local speed shop stocks stuff for L67 SII 3800s. Other option is EBay.

Thread merged with other on coupler.
