short in headlight system?

thought it was alternator, replaced, same thing. car runs perfect without headlights. i turn parking lights on. console lights dim, stereo maybe resets. engine slows waaay down(<500 rpm), then slowly levels back to normal. i turn blinker on, lights get VERY dim, engine goes real low again. i repeat with headlights on now, and car actually shuts off with blinker. SOMETIMES (with lights on), my car will get a near death expereince driving(30mph ~1.5k). during this time the voltage remained at 14. this suddenly started last night, didnt touch anything. 94 GP SE. still glancing at schematics...any ideas?? 3.1L
